I found some that are slightly used for $45 each with mounting and balancing included.

One is a 205/55R16 89H

The other is a 205/55R16 91H

I plan on buying them regardless, but I want to know how they ride and what to expect.

They grip well but wear quickly. Good tires, people who have them are happy with them!

I honestly don't care about how quickly they wear because they only need to last as long as my two good tires. The other two wore out in 30k miles...

I plan on buying 17s eventually anyways

I liked mine, easily damaged, but good grip/wear tradeoff. Great in the wet.

I concur. I run them now. Good grip, wear OK, grab well in wet conditions.

I had a set of Continentals on my '87 300D oh so long ago, and the only thing I remember is they wore out quickly and were not confidence-inspiring in the rain, but they made the car handle a bit better. I think I replaced them with ... Yokohamas?

Meh still better than the BF Goodrich Touring TAs that lasted 30k miles under normal driving

FYI - these were on my forester not my sportwagen, so factor that in. I run Pilot sport A/S on the sportwagen in the summer.

Oh, what size were the ones on the Forester?

If I recall correctly, the 300D came with Dunlops, which were shot at 25K or so. I've made my feelings clear on used tires here (your tires are the only thing in contact with the road) so I'll shut up about that. Does the different number in front of the H matter?

I don't think so, it's the load rating for the sidewalls, but considering that my car could technically run on 87s, it will be fine on 89s. The tread patterns are exactly the same on both tires, just the sidewall on the 89 is a bit thinner than the one on the 91.

DWS? Good tires. I have them on my E90, great grip in dry/wet. High wear rating, lots of people have been claiming to get tons of miles out of them. I was coming from Bridgestone run flats, so I appreciate the better and quieter ride of these.

Wear fast, but ride well, grip is meh. I changed to GY Eagle Gt's when my contis needed replacing. Noticeable difference in all conditions.

Expect bubbles, mine didn't even last 100 miles before bubbling brand new car/tires, their sidewalls are softer than baby shit.

Stock tires on my car (though 195/65R15 in my case). Very quiet, comfortable ride. Dull on steering response and handling (my winter tires are more responsive, despite the softer compound). Handled wet conditions well enough. I don't know about wear life, only had them on for 2354 km.
